dropo is Switzerland’s new Social Market.

A marketplace where prices can fall automatically — and that at the same time feels like the apps you already spend your day in.

dropo combines buying, selling and discovering with social media elements.

The falling price.

Elsewhere there are auctions, or fixed prices with haggling.

On dropo there is also a price that visibly drops by itself until someone takes it.

On top of that comes the combination of falling price and a bidding phase at the end.

The drop finds the price. The bidding phase decides between those who could wait.

The commission model is different too:

On Basic, our commission is capped at CHF 149, and it can fall further with a subscription or with turnover.

With higher plans, the commission cap drops as well.

And there are features that go far beyond a classic marketplace:

• a feed,
• stories,
• clips in portrait format,
• products right inside a post,

In several ways:

• commission on sales handled through the platform,
• a listing fee for direct sales,
• boosts,
• subscriptions.

In return, subscriptions lower various costs or include additional services and allowances.

Because a used item can go on being used, instead of a new product having to be manufactured for the same need.

Depending on the category, dropo shows how much CO₂ buying second-hand can save compared with a comparable new purchase.

The figures are averages across entire categories.

That is why it deliberately always says “up to” and never a flat “saves”.

Where there is no sufficiently reliable figure, we show neither an invented zero nor an artificial value.
